Everything you need to know about building a custom chicken coop in Weatherford, Texas — pricing, flock size, predator proofing, lead times, and local permit rules.
We hand-build chicken coops on site at your property in Weatherford, TX and throughout Parker County. We regularly deliver and build in Aledo, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks, Springtown, Azle, Millsap, Peaster, Poolville, and nearby communities within about 30 miles of Weatherford.
Our signature coops start at $1,899 for The Brazos (4–6 hens), $2,499 for The Homestead (6–8 hens), and $3,299 for The Parker Estate (10–12 hens). Fully custom builds are quoted based on size, run length, and finishes.
The Brazos comfortably houses 4–6 hens, The Homestead fits 6–8, and The Parker Estate holds 10–12. We follow a minimum of 4 sq ft of coop space and 10 sq ft of run space per bird so your flock stays healthy in the Texas heat.
Yes. Every coop uses 1/2" hardware cloth (not chicken wire), heavy-duty predator-proof latches on nesting boxes and doors, buried aprons or skirted wire against digging predators, and elevated floors. That's how we keep coyotes, raccoons, bobcats, hawks, and snakes out of your flock here in North Texas.
Current lead time is 4–6 weeks from deposit to on-site build. Larger custom builds and busy spring seasons can add a couple of weeks, and we'll give you a firm date when we lock in your quote.
We build on site at your property whenever access allows. That means a sturdier structure, no crane or trailer delivery limits, and a coop sized exactly to your yard. For customers outside our on-site range, we can pre-build and deliver.
Absolutely. Customers regularly add extra nesting boxes, larger runs, automatic doors, metal roofs in custom colors, insulated walls, and matching paint to their house or barn. Tell us what you need in the quote form and we'll build it.
Every coop uses weather-resistant lumber, exterior-grade fasteners, cross-ventilation designed for triple-digit summers, and metal roofing options that shed hail and Texas thunderstorms. We build the same coops we'd put in our own backyards.
Most Parker County properties and rural addresses don't require a permit for a residential backyard coop, but inside Weatherford city limits and some HOA neighborhoods you'll want to check local rules on setbacks, roosters, and flock size. We're happy to build to your city or HOA specs.
